We feel fortunate to watch countless of love stories unfold right underneath The Center’s dome. As couples pick their vendors that are going to make their wedding perfect, we are along for the ride. While we celebrate in this wonderful milestone in our couples’ lives, we understand that not everyone has the time, budget, or even energy to plan their wedding. This is where Wish Upon a Wedding comes in.
Wish Upon a Wedding is the first nonprofit organization that specializes in granting wedding and vow renewal wishes for couples facing terminal illnesses and serious life-threatening circumstances. No matter what the sexual orientation is, Wish Upon a Wedding provides a wedding planner to coordinate a wedding to a couple in need. Liz Guthrie, Founder of Wish Upon a Wedding, states on the organization’s website, “We believe that two people in love should never be denied the chance to marry their soul make, and Wish Upon a Wedding provides this opportunity to those who have endured far greater challenges than many of us could possibly imagine.”
At The Center we are actively involved in our community. Having employees volunteer for charities including Ronald McDonald House, Save the Animals Foundation and Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, we believe it is important to give back to others. And we cannot see a greater act of kindness and love than reaching out to couples who are facing a difficult road ahead.
Check out just one of the wedding wishes this organization has granted, Daymond & Iran. According to Wish Upon a Wedding, “After being diagnosed with aggressive Thyroid Cancer, Daymond continues to bring light into Iran’s life. Since 2012, Iran has gone through a series of surgery and radiation treatments. She is currently battling with Stage 4 Papillary Thyroid Cancer and fighting to keep her voice.” Learn more about their love story here.
