Client Spotlight – Kellie LaChance

We’re so excited to introduce a new series appropriately called Client Spotlight! Our first segment of Client Spotlight features one of our 2017 brides who took “LaChance” on our gorgeous venue and made it her very own for her wedding day. We put together a few questions to ask Kellie LaChance about The Center, her planning process, and happy results!

Without further ado, meet Kellie:

Kellie and Denny LaChance

1. What was the first thing that caught your eye when you came to visit The Center?

The first thing that caught my eye about The Center was the huge open space! I knew right away that I would be able to turn the space into my very own! And the dome room is very unique and adds an awesome touch!

2. What was the deciding factor in booking your event at The Center?

I had always imagined an outdoor wedding, but with the unpredictable weather here I was really nervous we would have a rainy day. I felt like with the openness of the space and the huge windows overlooking Fountain Square I felt like it was the closest thing we could get to being outside without having to worry about the elements. Plus the convenience of guest parking at Fountain Square and entering through The Westin meant if the weather was bad, no one would need to go outside.

3. How did you make The Center uniquely yours?

Since you basically have a blank canvas to start with, it is really easy to transform the space into whatever you want. We had our ceremony and reception at The Center and the way the room looked completely different after the flip was AMAZING! It really looked like 2 different venues all together. I remember walking into the reception and being completely blown away by how beautiful everything was!

4. What was your favorite part about working with The Center staff?

My favorite part about working with the staff was how available they always were. I feel like I emailed all the time with random questions and the staff was always there with an answer! They have so many suggestions for vendors that are used to working in their space and that definitely made planning easier. I remember when I came in to see the space to refresh my memory they were setting up for a wedding that coming weekend. I saw these long wooden tables and knew I had to have them. I emailed Kayla and she knew exactly what I was talking about and who to get in contact with for renting them!

5. Do you have any words of wisdom you’d like to offer to an upcoming client who is thinking about booking The Center for their event?

I would tell future brides that are looking for a venue that once they have checked out The Center, BOOK IT! You will not be disappointed! We looked at several other venues before finding The Center and I think we both knew right away that we had found the one. Like I said earlier, once you see the huge space, the dome and the awesome views of Fountain Square you will know what I mean. We didn’t have any complaints and our guests complimented the space all night. Also, being in the middle of downtown made pictures really easy. It is literally right at Fountain Square if you want to take pictures with the fountain and also a very short walk to P&G Garden. We didn’t need to rent a bus or anything like that to get us around since everything was so close!

Kellie, and her husband Denny, really transformed The Center to reflect their wonderful personalities with their décor. Adding lanterns, elegant roses, and personalized napkins showcased the couple’s blooming admiration for each other. Also, did we mention that they hired the Naked Karate Girls for their reception entertainment?!

It was truly an exciting night with a live band and a donut bar keeping the guests entertained and full. We wish Kellie and Denny many, many years of happiness and laughter! We also want to thank Kellie for her time to provide us and our future clients with some behind the scenes information and advice on how she brought her big day to life!
